    25.03.2026 1970-01-01

From April 6 to 12, 2026, Russia will mark Space Week for the first time—commemorating the 65th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s historic flight. The Inter-University Department of Space Research at Samara University is proud to join this nationwide initiative with a dedicated program titled “Gagarin’s Day.”

All those passionate about space exploration are warmly invited to take part in two flagship events:

Share the Legacy of Yuri Gagarin

A video contest honoring Yuri Gagarin’s pioneering achievement. Participants are invited to create a short video (up to 2 minutes) on the theme: “What Gagarin’s feat teaches me.”

    Key requirements:

    ·         submissions accepted until April 12, 2026 (inclusive).

    ·         videos must be in horizontal format, either in English or with English subtitles.

    ·         open to individuals or teams of up to 4 people.

Winners will be announced on April 15, 2026. The top five entries will be published on the official event website.

    Grand Prize:

The names of the winners will be transmitted every three minutes from the onboard payload of the “SamSat-Ionosphere” nanosatellite from April 20 to 26, 2026—and can be received by amateur radio operators worldwide. Additionally, winners will receive exclusive postcards autographed by the creators of the “SamSat-Ionosphere” mission.
